Hey

here's my groups final film so far, as you can see the paintwork is a bit shaky and there is a few continuity errors, but all in all im proud of our first handrawn and pained 2d movie, (we won't be doing one of those again anytime soon)

Their will be more posts to follow, on the sea project.

Sea Project: frame by frame

Hey

here's some more of the frames I've been painting.

The painting of small detailed frames, such as the above run for Chris, were particuarly hard, as the watercolour glasses loved running onto the face.

:)

Hey ,

Sorry I havent, updated very much this week, I've been very busy painting the frames for our group project, here's some examples.

Multiple frames with Chris's glasses painted

One example of how I painted Chris, a process which due to some of his small details on his outfit (such as the stripes) was quite difficult as water colours love to run.

:)

I'll Keep you updated with the films progress in the next few days

Motion that Emotion

Hey

I wanted to re do my Emotion project for Andy's Sea motion studies brief, as I felt my previous version lacked presence. My new character jumps for joy before falling over and have a tantrum.

All animals, big and small

Hey

After my tutorial with Adam Aiken, I made slight improvements to my Ident, including giving the fish slight movement and adding in slight ripples to the water, as well as the rock pool background. However im still unsure whether I want to add music to my piece or not.

(I think I may add on one extra frame to the ident, so it finishes on a blank screen)

I also wanted to post my drawings from the drawing trip to Newquay zoo (focusing on quick and rough studies of there movements).

(two of my favorite pictures from the trip)

^ Lemurs, Mongooses, Agouti's and Birds

^ Zebras, Wildebeasts and Waterbacks

^ Capybaras, Meerkats, Peacocks and Lions

^ Penguins, Macaques and Warty Pigs.

^ above is a quick sketch of a Zebra done on the cover of my sketchbook during the Animal Behaviour lecture.

Backgrounds

Hey

Here is my first colour test, (after taking over the background design from Hannah) for the beach scape in our sea stories project.

-Although the girlies havent seen these test yets, my personal favourite colours are,
the gradient yellow and orange sunrise (shown in image 1) and the bluey turquoise sea (present in the last image) and the rocks and beach in image 4.

And below is the rockpool background which will form part of the background on my ident.

Watercoloured Fish

Hey,

Here is what I have for my Ident project so far

I scanned the original watercolour fish's into photoshop, cut them out and created the piece using the cut out method.

Although the fishy's are static models, the Orca's movement will be created by changing the shape of the tail and fins..

I will update you with the finished animation (without the sound effects/score ) shortly.

Interior Animation Background

Lighting

For this part of the background brief we had to create an interior background that uses soft and key lighting.

Exterior Background

Hey

Here is my exterior background for my Pirates project, for this part of the brief we had to use either a monochromatic, harmonious, complementary or an analagous with the use of complementry colour scheme.

above are my two main references for my colour scheme.

rough layout, shaded layout and rough colored painting for my background.

^ Above is my final layout for the final, followed by the unedited watercolour background

My final piece uses an Analogous colour scheme with the use of black and brown, but in particular hues of yellow to give depth to the scene.

here is my final so far, it still needs editing in photoshop to add more depth to the background.
